Dear Friend, You’ve probably heard of yoga, maybe you’ve tried it already. For this time of year, it’s a great activity you can do in the comfort of your home. Yoga dates back thousands of years, to what is modern day India. For many people, particularly Hindus, Buddhists and Jainists, it’s a very spiritual experience, but for other’s it’s more a form of exercise. Modern western interpretations of Yoga focus on the exercise aspect and are forms of stretching, along with breathing exercise and for some, ending in meditation. There are many different degrees of intensity, and particular stretches which will have different effects, overall however yoga helps with: • Increased flexibility • Improved respiration, energy and vitality. • Maintaining a balanced metabolism. • Weight reduction.
