Subject: Power in the City Podcast coming soon, Carbon Co-op in Parliament and more!🎙️

Hi Friend,

This month, it is with great excitement that we are launching our new podcast, Power in the City - with a full release coming on November 17th, now is your chance to listen to the trailer and get ahead of the curve. Read more about the podcast, and what you can expect below.

We also want to extend a warm welcome to our new Operations Manager, James Lester. James has been a committed Carbon Co-op member for several years taking part in our events and participating in the PowerShaper Flex service. He comes to us with a background in operations and project management at a tech start-up in Manchester, and previously having worked on large scale projects at Soccer Aid and Manchester United Foundation.

Last week we were able to share our citizen-led approach with the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal, meeting with MPs to share insights from the Oldham Energy Futures project.

We have opened the Community forum to posts from people who aren't yet Carbon Co-op members. This should allow more experts and enthusiasts to share their knowledge and experience with the Carbon Co-op community, find out how they can sign up below.

Podcast Launch: Power in the City!

We’re so excited to tell you that we have launched our new podcast Power In The City featuring all the brilliant, everyday things people are already doing to tackle climate change - starting in Oldham.

The trailer is out now and the first episode, ‘Talking about walking’ is out November 17th.

Power in the City is about all the low carbon things we already do in our communities – knowingly or not. We talk about walking, the sun and the wind, how to make our homes more cosy, about good local work and the benefits of doing things together.

You’ll hear about a cycling Imam and a walking hairdresser, how climate change activism can move through your stomach, about the millions the sun could make for Oldham and many different pairs of walking boots.

Review of Net Zero: Our response

After hearing from you last month, we have now published our response to the Review of Net Zero consultation. But we are still interested to hear any feedback from you! Let us know what you think, and how we can improve our responses going forward.

Community forum open for sign-ups

We have some exciting changes over on the Carbon Co-op community forum. The forum is now open to anyone who wants to sign up. Whereas previously, only Carbon Co-op members were able to join and post on the forum, we hope that this new change will bring new perspectives and expertise to the forum. There will remain a 'members-only' forum section. New members can create an account after clicking the 'login' button. Please share this with any non-members who you think would make a great addition to our community.
