Current Lakefront Schedule
Our current lakefront schedule can be viewed here

Please note that Quest will be using the lake this week Monday through Saturday afternoons.

The Cadet Unit and their families will be using the lakefront on Tuesday evening, July 19.

We want to do a better job at communicating guest or program lakefront usage to the staff. We will most likely do this through a staff database text (similarly to the ones sent out during conference). If you haven't ever received one of these database texts, please reply to this email to make sure you're on the texting loop.
RSVP for Conference Meals
Please RSVP for meals you plan to attend during the conference. Meals will be available at a discounted rate Monday through Friday of the conference. The Conference Menu is available for preview here
Children's Programs
We are excited for the Family Conference that starts two weeks from today! We have a little over 100 people registered for the conference and are looking forward to a great week. Remember, children of staff families can participate in the children’s programs at no charge. If you are planning on signing up your children for conference programs, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you!
Affirming Biblical Foundations
We are excited to have Brandon Keilen present the entire Affirming Biblical Foundations course throughout the conference. Linked is the schedule for this project.

Brandon has been working to revitalize some key Biblical truths originally presented in the Basic Seminar. We would like to encourage as many staff as possible to attend these sessions to provide valuable feedback to Brandon as he develops and refines the course to share these with a wider audience. (If you have your supervisor’s permission to attend during regular workday hours, you will be paid for those hours and need to use the appropriate T-Sheets code. Attendance at the evening sessions is voluntary and will not be paid time.)
Save the Date
Congratulations to Samuel Winkler and Anna Ferraro on their recent engagement! They will be getting married on September 24 in Jacksonville, IL. The whole campus is invited to their on-campus reception on Sunday, November 13, 3–6 PM. More details to come!
Upcoming Singspiration
There will be a Singspiration Sunday, July 31 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel. Please contact Phillip Vanderford by Thursday, July 28 if you have special music you'd like to share.
Big Sandy Sea Cadets Need
The Big Sandy Sea Cadet unit was gifted the use of a 15-passenger van to take their officers and cadets to Michigan for honor guard training. This past week a tree fell on the van. They do not have the funds to cover a $2500 rental; if anyone has a 13+ passenger van that they could borrow or rent at a dramatically discounted rate, they would be most grateful. Please contact Maj. Boulden if your vehicle might be available.
Quest Update
As we reach the halfway point, the young men of Quest have had the opportunity to participate in various classes, events, and activities. Learning skills such as canoeing, electrical/plumbing/drywall, first aid, and auto maintenance has kept the student body quite busy. They’ve also had the privilege of hearing from several speakers for morning chapel sessions, including ALERT officers and staff members.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers as the program moved into a more rigorous schedule. Keeping the young men in good health is of high priority, as well as continuing to make meaningful investments in the students' lives.

Note for this week's schedule: Later this week, we will be doing the Quest secret church event, which consists of the secret church messages being played at various different locations late into the night. The students will travel from place to place as we progress through the content.

Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
This week, L&C will have the opportunity to hear from a guest instructor about lessons he's learned as a business owner and how to honor God in the marketplace. 2nd Phase will have a challenging week as they experience scenarios and consider what life is like for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world. Please pray for the leadership team to have wisdom beyond their years. Also, pray that the men will respond well and learn a lot from this week's challenges.
Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
While living in the same place as our coworkers can bring closeness within the workplace, it can also lead to a deep seeded culture of gossip.

"Gossip informs culture and can influence connections and hierarchies. It’s destructive. Two suggestions
— Don’t talk about anyone on the team unless they’re in the room. This simple boundary is easy to say and surprisingly difficult to do. Secondly, challenge office gossip at every turn. You wouldn’t tolerate people stealing petty cash or telling off your customers—the culture becomes what you tolerate.

"Gossip won’t disappear... but making it clear to the high performers that you don't tolerate gossip sends a message about the focus and culture of the team you’re working so hard to build." - Seth Godin (edited and condensed)
