| Sound Foundations Update | Susannah Hulin The Sound Foundations staff is incredibly grateful for everyone's gracious response to the letdown of cancelling Summer events. What a shock and disappointment to us all. We are grateful for the unity and help everyone provided through the unexpected.
As we have reflected over the last few days on the very short time we had with our students, we realize God was answering so many specific prayers for this very course. Even during the first and last gathering (Orientation), God led Gabe to preach a message he had never shared before, giving the students an opportunity to say "yes" to God TODAY and not put it off until tomorrow. Little did we or the students know how different "tomorrow" would look, further emphasizing the message God had given us. Although we did not expect the length to be so abbreviated, we are confident the Lord accomplished what He desired for these students. It is such a comfort to be able to entrust these precious lives, and God’s work in them, to our loving, Heavenly Father's hands. |
| Quest Update | Lt. Whitaker On Tuesday evening, the Quest staff began notifying parents about the measles situation and arranged for the guys to head home. By Friday afternoon, everyone was off campus and no longer in our care. This week, a small number of Leadership guys have graciously volunteered to stay and help clean everything up and close out Quest for the summer—we are very grateful for their help! The barricades will be removed, and the Basic Training road will be open for the rest of the summer. Please continue to avoid the barracks, as some of our leaders are completing their quarantine period there. As we clean up, if you see anything out of place, please let me or Josiah Vanderford know, and we'll take care of it. |
| Battalion Update | Capt. Winkler Week three of the summer quarter starts today! 2nd Phase will be doing rope rescue training this week, working with the guys in Tech Rescue on those skills. L&C is continuing classwork with various guest instructors as they move through their syllabus. Please continue to keep the Battalion in prayers for health as we navigate some adjustments to the summer schedule.
