| Conference Messages The rough edits of last week's conference messages are available to staff, if you're interested in re-watching any of the content before it's launched onto Embassy Media in the weeks ahead. You will need to sign in to/create a DropBox account and request access to the Rough Edits Folder here. |
| Blood Drive Thanks Thanks to all who donated blood on Saturday, April 18 — and also to those who wanted to donate but couldn’t, for one reason or another. The Carter Blood Care staff collected 32 units of blood and went back to Tyler happy with their very successful time here. And not lost on them were the cooperative and respectful attitudes of the ALERT men. A huge positive testimony! |
| Farming Resource Class Everyone is invited, Tuesday, May 5 at 6:30 PM, to join blueberry farmers, Jerry & Jill Graves, owners of the Blueberry Ridge Farm (Est. 1992), as they share about their wholesale and U-pick blueberry operation. |
| Battalion Update | Capt. Winkler It is another busy week for Battalion. Construction returned at the end of last week from San Angelo, TX, where they spent the week working on rebuilds after last summer's flooding. Missions returned from Pennsylvania safely middle of last week, and is heading out tomorrow for Malawi. They are scheduled to return May 19. EMT is back to class this week after working the ALERT Cadet Challenge last week, and the Flight guys are still working through ground school and getting flight hours as the weather permits. |
| Basic Training Update | Maj. Hawley This week will mark the Unit’s halfway point into Basic Training. This is a huge and encouraging mile marker for the men.
The men will continue adding to their training this week with ropes as they learn to create a mechanical advantage system. This system is used to move heavy objects by adding pulleys onto the rope being used to lift the object. They will also have their first nighttime search and rescue scenario, where they will need to find and care for a missing patient and then use their new skills to get the patient home safely, while crossing a river on the way.
Excitingly, Alpha First won the unit-wide river crossing competition today! This week will climax on Thursday with the Unit's next endurance event, the 12-Hour Hike. Please continue to pray for these men as they face each new challenge. |
