We have some exciting new breeds to offer you in 2012. The Columbian Wyandotte Bantam: A miniature size of the Columbian Wyandotte Standard chicken and admitted to the American Poultry Standard of Perfection in 1905. This poultry variety of the Wyandotte breed makes for a good backyard chicken and egg production.
The Barnevelder Chicken: Originating from the Barneveld region of Holland. It lays a dark brown egg. This beautiful bird has a single comb, is hardy and quiet and doesn't mind being confined. The breed was first recognized by the American Standard of Perfection in 1991. Does not become broody.
We also have increased our standard Cochins to include Golden Laced and Barred Standard Cochin. The Cochin Chicken (Chinese Shanghai Fowl) has a long history and arrived in England and America in 1845. Noted for massive size in appearance, profusion of soft down in the under fluff of feathering, leg feathering, toe feathering, gentle nature and kid friendly temperament. With their gentle disposition and fluffy appearance they make excellent pets for children and show chickens.
