Subject: Our Response To the Attack in Boulder

Strength in Solidarity

Standing Together, Building Forward as a Community

The June 1st attack on a peaceful gathering in Boulder, Colorado, an event to raise awareness for Israeli hostages, was beyond a mere act of violence, it was a premeditated assault on our values as a society. As an organization that works to bridge Colorado-Israel economic ties, our mission is not only symbolic, but foundational since it is through the connections we create that we heal and move forward together. This horrific attack was a painful reminder of how vulnerable our communities can be when hate is left unchecked and how much work is left to do.

Thirteen individuals were injured, including a Holocaust survivor, in a targeted firebombing that shook Colorado’s sense of safety. While this attack will not define us, our response will. For the past year and half, COIL has been building an organization that believes that statements alone cannot confront hate. Hate is dismantled through action, collaboration, and human connections that cannot easily be thrown away.

When CO-IL brings Israeli innovators together with Colorado businesses, when we foster mutual collaboration, when we build trust across sectors and communities, we support economic development while reinforcing the social fabric that extremists seek to tear apart. Every joint venture, every shared solution, every bilateral partnership we nurture is part of something greater: a refusal to let fear divide us. Instead, we will deepen our relationships, strengthen our commitment, and continue to build forward, together.

To the Boulder community and all who were affected, we send our love and our strength. To our broader network, we say this clearly: now is the time to show up, to connect, and to lead.
