Subject: Tuesday Wines Of The Day

Tempranillo, whilst it is one of the most widely grown grapes in Spain, it is seldom sought after here in the US. This is sad because Tempranillo is like a soft puppy that just wants to please everyone. It can be soft and fruit forward and inviting when grown in La Tierra De Castilla Y Leon or sturdy and brooding when grown in Ribera del Duero. Either way, Tempranillo has a way to please everyone.

Gota De Arena Tempranillo

750ml, $11.99

Deep purple color, the aromatics erupt from the glass featuring a mix of crushed red and black fruits, and sweet spice tinged with cedar. An incredible value, possessing fantastic fruit, excellent mid-palate depth and ripe tannins.

Cune Crianza

750ml, $14.99

Berry, spice and tobacco aromas work in unison to give this Crianza a nice start. A firm palate avoids jamminess and shows grip. Dark plum, raspberry, spice and pepper flavors hold on through the finish. For everyday Rioja, there isn't much better than this.

Pago De Los Capellanes Crianza

750ml, $37.99

James Suckling-Ribera del Duero, Castilla y Leon, Spain- "Quite attractive, rich and ripe, dark-berry and plum nose here with a bold, juicy feel and a wealth of sleek, fresh, red and dark berries on the palate."
