BREAKING NEWS: Tree Removal on PCH Jams Traffic

Tree removal is currently in progress on Pacific Coast Highway between the 10 Freeway and Entrada and has closed the right NB lane, jamming traffic.

Caltrans spokesperson Kelly Markham said the eucalyptus tree is being removed as a precaution.

“The tree that fell yesterday and blocked all three lanes hit a second tree as it tipped over. After we assessed the situation, we decided to remove that tree as well,” Markham told the Palisadian-Post.

Clean-up crews will be working on PCH until about 1 p.m. and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
