BREAKING NEWS: Traffic Advisory for Obama’s Visit to Pacific Palisades
President Barack Obama is scheduled to attend two fundraisers in the Riviera neighborhood of Pacific Palisades tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, Oct. 10, in addition to a dinner in Los Angeles later that evening.
The Los Angeles Police Department has issued a list of road closures, park closures and areas to avoid in an effort to reduce traffic congestion.
Note that Obama’s exact motorcade route is never released to the public.
From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., motorists should avoid: Sunset Boulevard between Rivas Canyon Road and Monaco Drive Capri Drive between Corsica Drive and Casale Road Casale Road between Capri Drive and San Remo Drive
From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., motorists should avoid: Amalfi Drive between San Remo Drive and Capri Drive Capri Drive between Amalfi Drive and Sunset Boulevard Pavia Place between Sunset Boulevard and Amalfi Drive From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., motorists should avoid: Sunset between Westcove Drive and Minorca Drive Allenford Avenue/26th Street between Sunset and San Vicente Boulevard San Vicente Boulevard between 25th Street and Wilshire Boulevard Wilshire between Barry Avenue and Devon Avenue Beverly Glen Avenue between Ashton Avenue and Charing Cross Road Mapleton Drive between Club View Drive and Wynton Drive From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., motorists should avoid: Beverly Glen Drive between Wynton Drive and Pico Boulevard Pico Boulevard between Patricia Avenue and Avenue of the Stars Motor Avenue between Pico and Monte Mar Drive CLOSURES / RESTRICTIONS (no bus routes impacted by the hard closures) LAX Airport NB and SB lanes of Sepulveda Boulevard between Lincoln Boulevard and Century Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic for an eight minute period between the approximate hours of 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Will Rogers State Historic Park The park will be closed from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. San Remo Drive, Pacific Palisades San Remo will be closed between Casale Road and Amalfi Drive from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Amalfi Drive, Pacific Palisades Amalfi Drive will be closed between Napoli Drive and Minorca Drive from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. South Mapleton Drive Los Angeles, CA South Mapleton Drive will be closed between Wyton Drive and Club View Drive from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Club View Drive will be closed between South Beverly Glen Boulevard and Comstock Avenue from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cheviot Hills Park Cheviot Hills Recreation Center and Park will be closed from approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday Oct. 9 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.
