BREAKING NEWS: Parts of Pacific Coast Highway Closed Amid Winter Storm

Multiple freeways and roads were closed earlier this morning due to rain and dangerous conditions, according to Caltrans.
Both sides of Pacific Coast Highway are closed in Pacific Palisades due to a fallen tree that knocked down power lines. The southbound road is closed at Temescal Canyon Road, and the northbound side is closed at Chautauqua Boulevard.
Northbound Pacific Coast Highway lanes at the Santa Monica bluffs and Ocean Avenue onramp are closed due to a mudslide. Traffic is being redirected off the I-10 westbound at the Lincoln Boulevard off ramp.
The city of Santa Monica is cleaning drains at the top of the bluffs.
“Residents are advised to stay off the roads,” according to Malibu City. “If you must drive, proceed with caution with headlights on, beware flooding, mud, rocks, trees, work vehicles [and] personnel.”

City News Service contributed to this report.
