Breaking News: Pali High Grad Dropped from Pregerson Lawsuit

Pali High grad Warren Satz has been dismissed as a defendant in the wrongful death lawsuit filed on Feb. 17 by the parents of David Pregerson, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident in December 2013.

Satz, who found David Pregerson lying unconscious on Chautauqua Boulevard in the early morning hours of Dec. 27, 2013 and moved him out of the roadway and into the ivy on the parkway, faces no criminal charges in the case.

“Warren was a Good Samaritan and has no liability for the tragedy of David’s death. Warren will continue to cooperate with any investigation into David’s death, as he has continually done, since the morning of the incident,” said Satz’ attorney Randall Rich.

“The Satz family expresses its deepest condolences to the Pregerson family for the loss of their son, and to all the Palisades families who have lost children as a result of senseless acts,” Rich added.

Dean and Sharon Pregerson have filed an amended wrongful death lawsuit that names only Marguerite Vuong and Michael Vuong as defendants.

Marguerite Vuong pleaded no contest on Feb. 6 to one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

Michael Vuong pleaded no contest to one felony count of accessory to hit-and-run causing death.

The Vuongs are due in court Friday, March 6 for sentencing.
