BREAKING NEWS: PCH Brush Fire Contained

A one-and-a-half-acre brush fire that broke out Friday evening, February 10, at approximately 5 p.m. near 14830 Pacific Coast Highway, has been contained, according to LAFD Spokesperson Nicholas Prange.

“LAFD and Santa Monica Firefighters mounted an attack by ground and air on the burning brush in steep terrain,” Prange wrote. “It took 49 LAFD firefighters 50 minutes to snuff out the flames, holding the burn to approximately 1.5 acres. Crews will remain on scene to ensure any remaining hot spots are eliminated. No reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
