Breaking News: Overnight Brush Fire Near Palisades Riviera Contained

Approximately 75 firefighters contained a two-acre brush fire that burned overnight in parkland north of Casale Drive in the Palisades Riviera, according to Erik Scott at LAFD.

Repetitive and precise aerial water drops helped firefighters contain the blaze by about 1:30 a.m, but continued to battle hot spots throughout the night, officials said.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, according to LAFD.

Firefighters are expected to declare an official knockdown this morning, officials said.

Palisades residents in the Riviera and Huntington are reporting that it still smells like smoke in their neighborhoods.
