BREAKING NEWS: Hillary Clinton Raises $800K at Pacific Palisades Fundraiser

On her first Southern California fundraising visit as a presidential candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton addressed a group of 200 supporters today in an intimate backyard garden setting at the Pacific Palisades residence of legendary TV producer Steven Bochco and his wife Dayna.

Palisadians Sim Farar (Vice Chairman of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy) and Debra Farar (Board of Trustees for California State University) and Howard Gordon (producer of 24 and Homeland) and Cami Gordon (writer and environmental activist) co-hosted the private luncheon, which cost $2,700 per person and ultimately raised $800,000 for the Hillary for America fund.

Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Congressman Ted Lieu joined a who’s who of Hollywood execs that flocked to the event. Some VIPS met with Clinton in a private area.

The luncheon took place in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Pacific Palisades known as the Riviera, where Hollywood A-listers like Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner reside.

Clinton breezed in and out, spending about 15 minutes speaking to the enthusiastic crowd about four key issues: economy, education, mental health and reforming the dysfunctional political structure. She took only two questions from the audience about education rights and fracking.

In a light-hearted moment, the former U.S. Secretary of State closed her talk with a campaign promise that was met with raucous laughter: “If I get to be president, I can tell you without fear of contradiction that if elected, you will never see my hair turn white in the White House. I’ve dyed it my whole life.”

The Palisadian-Post, which gained exclusive access to the event, spoke to more than 50 Palisadians in attendance.

“We’ve been waiting for this moment for a strong woman to step into office,” said one Palisadian.
