A Los Angeles County judge ruled today that there was enough evidence for Brian Thomas Cruz to stand trial on 16 charges, including kidnapping and carjacking, stemming from a crime spree in Pacific Palisades on Aug. 11, 2014.

Superior Court Judge Deborah S. Brazil made the ruling at the end of a preliminary hearing in which 10 witnesses provided testimony over a two-day period.

Cruz is currently being held on $2,585,000 bail. Arraignment is scheduled for May 1, 2015.
