UPDATE: Attorney IDs Gun-Hoarding Highlands Man Found Dead in Car

Attorney Harland Braun has identified 60-year-old Jeffrey Alan Lash as the man who was found dead in a sport utility vehicle on Friday, July 17 in Pacific Palisades.

The discovery of the man’s body led police to a condo in the 1700 block of Palisades Drive where Lash lived with his fiancée Catherine Nebron, who is represented by Braun. Police recovered more than 1,200 firearms and about six and a half tons of ammunition at the condo.

Lash was convinced he was working undercover for a government agency, according to Braun. Nebron is the owner of the condo where the weapons cache was found.

Neighbors described Lash as “odd” and said they knew he was a hoarder but had no idea he was hoarding an arsenal of weapons. They also said he had been ill for some time.

“People said they had been watching him die slowly for a year,” Braun said.

About the whole incident, Braun said, “Sometimes the truth is so crazy that you just can’t believe it.”

The Los Angeles County coroner's office has yet to make an official identification.
