Coca-Cola funds endless cleanups, but doesn't prevent more plastic ending in our communities

Last week’s announcement of a river cleanup partnership between top plastic polluter Coca-Cola and The Ocean Cleanup prompted a reaction from Break Free From Plastic and members who sent a reactive to the press.

“If Coca-Cola really wants to solve their plastic bottle pollution, the company should support the introduction of Deposit Refund Systems worldwide and urgently reduce their plastic use as much as possible. We also need to bring justice for the fishing community who have been affected due to the contamination of sea areas and loss of fishing grounds.”

Green Latinos Fenceline op-ed
