Celebrating 5 years of global brand audits with a new website!

You spoke, we listened.

Check out our new website and get involved in our 5th global brand audit!

Dear Break Free From Plastic changemaker,

Since 2018, thousands of Break Free From Plastic members and allies all over the world have organized hundreds of brand audits every year to gather data on plastic waste and expose the world’s top corporate plastic polluters, resulting in our annual global “BRANDED” reports. Thanks to these efforts, our movement has been pressuring the top polluting corporations to reveal their total plastic footprint, reduce production at the source, and redesign their packaging for refill and reuse.

Over the years, BFFP members have successfully elevated the power of brand audits in creative ways by using their data to ban plastics, create zero waste communities and plastic-free schools, file lawsuits against top polluting corporations, and advocate for policy change. At the same time, corporate polluters have continued to greenwash with false solutions to distract us and delay the systems change we need.

BUT THIS YEAR COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING.

2022 isn’t just our 5th year of global brand audits. 2022 also marks the beginning of the Global Plastic Treaty negotiations. And that’s why we need you more than ever to do a brand audit!

Why, you ask?

Because this year presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gather data that can help support the Global Plastics Treaty, a huge step towards turning off the plastic tap once and for all. The more data we gather, the more power we have to pressure the top polluting corporations to #breakfreefromplastic.

If there was ever a time to do a brand audit, it is now. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work!

Together, we are powerful.

In solidarity,

Sybil Bullock

Break Free From Plastic
