Join a Monthly Orientation Call

To better welcome new brand audit organizers on a rolling basis through all of 2023, we will host monthly orientation calls the first Wednesday of every month. This will be a space to connect with other brand audit participants, meet BFFP movement leaders with inspiring brand audit success stories, learn the data recording methodology, and ask questions. In addition, we will provide private live group trainings upon request. Join us for the next orientation call on August 2, 2023!

Apply for a Microfund

Break Free From Plastic is pleased to announce this microfund application to provide need-based financial support to 30 member organizations planning a brand audit event in 2023. Core member recipients will be awarded $500 USD each and associate members will be awarded $300 USD each to help cover their organization's brand audit event expenses. In an effort to elevate new brand audit stories, microfund recipients will also be asked to share their data findings in a short case study (template provided by BFFP).

Application Deadline
This round of applications will consider brand audit events scheduled to be held July - September, 2023. The deadline to apply for this round is August 11. If your brand audit event will take place October - December 2023, please wait for the second round of applications to open on October 2.

PepsiCo found to be top polluter in the Himalayas

Congratulations to our friends at Zero Waste Himalaya for another successful Himalayan Cleanup and brand audit in the Indian Himalayan region! They have been leading this event in collaboration with the Integrated Mountain Initiative since 2018. Thanks to this event, 11,000 volunteers across ten mountain states conducted waste and brand audits. They found over 90% of the waste to be plastic, and PepsiCo was the top polluting company. You can support them in demanding corporate accountability in the Himalayas by retweeting their post!

Message from a BFFP Member

Shout out from the BFFP Nappies Taskforce! Nappies (known also as diapers) are a really problematic item of single-use plastic, and although they won’t be found in many audits, if they are we’d like to know about it! If you’re organising a brand audit and would like to understand how your audit could help the nappies taskforce, or think that your audit might find nappies, please get in touch with elisabeth@nappyalliance.co.uk. Thanks!
