The Trump Administration recently rolled back the landmark Biden-era rule on National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, which strengthened protections for frontline communities who are exposed to a wide range of toxic gases, such as ethylene oxide, chloroprene, and benzene.
Separately, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) eliminated a key office – the Office of Research & Development – whose research and work underpins nearly all of EPA’s environmental health regulations, from clean drinking water standards to the health risks associated with toxic chemical exposure. |
