Subject: How to "Start Again"...

Lee Hayward's Total Fitness Bodybuilding Tips
Hey Friend,

I've been overwhelmed by the positive feedback and encouragement that I've been getting in response to my new YouTube videos about "Starting Again and Getting Fit Over 40"...

As I mentioned in the videos, in a couple months I'm going to be turning the BIG 4-0 and my goal now is to get "Fit Over 40".

As I've gotten older, became a father, and have a lot more responsibilities on my plate - it's getting a lot harder to keep up with the day to day grind of going to the gym and sticking to a structured meal plan.

And to be totally honest with you... I've "let myself go". I'm no where near the same shape and condition that I used to be in during my bodybuilding competition peak.

Now don't get me wrong, it's not like I've stopped working out entirely, but I certainly haven't been as consistent as I should have and that's why I'm going to "Start Again".

If you haven't already done so, please go and watch my YouTube video where I explain the process here.

Now setting a goal to get back in shape is all fine and dandy, but life has a way of getting in the way, and this past week has been a struggle for me.

In fact, I haven't been able to get to the gym all week. I had several meetings and appointments come up at the last minute. We had a special family dinner that I had to attend, which included foods that "didn't fit my macros" :-)

But you know what, I made it work anyway, and I actually lost fat this week despite all the stuff that went wrong...

Instead of going to the gym, I worked out at home. Now these weren't big 2 hour long workouts, but rather quick 30 minute sessions where I trained fast and furious, took short rest breaks between sets, and got a killer pump in the process.

Knowing that I had a "big family meal" coming up, I purposely reduced my carb and calorie intake for the days leading up to, and after that big dinner.

I also made sure to get outside and walk the dog everyday to help bump up my overall calorie expenditure to help aid with fat loss.

Bottom line, if you have the right mindset you can figure out how can you make things happen. Rather than getting caught up with BS excuses of...

"I don't have time, I'm too busy, life's too hard, blah, blah, blah..."

Granted it probably won't be perfect, but you don't need to be perfect in order to make progress.

Sometimes that little half ass workout is good enough, and it's certainly a lot better than no workout at all. Heck, even just going for a walk around the block is better than nothing.

And if you do "cheat on your diet", you can get back on track for your very next meal and work on moving forward from there.

Remember, you don't have to be perfect to make progress. Some times good enough is all you need to move forwards :-)

Friend, I hope this helps, and make sure to follow along with my "Start Again" Getting Fit Over 40 Journey on YouTube.
