Subject: How I Overcame Shyness and Social Anxiety

Lee Hayward's Total Fitness Bodybuilding Tips
Hey Friend,

Did you know that a lot of bodybuilders and athletes are naturally very shy and insecure people?

While this may come as a shock to some - it's actually a big motivating factor for why guys will push themselves so hard to get bigger, stronger and to succeed in athletics.

While building your body is a great way to develop self confidence - it only covers the physical side.

But deep down you can still suffer from anxiety, feeling awkward around people, struggle to carry on a conversation, etc... even if you are in really good shape.

This is what lead me into fitness from a young age...

Back when I was in school I used to get picked on and bullied by some of the other students and this lead to self esteem issues and feeling low self confidence.

To help deal with this and to avoid getting beat up by the bullies - I turned to martial arts, working out, lifting weights, and eventually competing in bodybuilding.

While developing myself physically certainly helped me in my personal development journey and increased my self confidence - something was still missing...

I still felt very awkward in social situations - even though I wasn't getting bullied anymore - I never felt confident in myself as a person and had a hard time talking to people and expressing myself.

Even though I looked fit on the outside - on the inside I still felt weak, insecure, and like a total failure as a person...

During this time I was fortunate enough to find out about Toastmasters.

If you're not familiar with Toastmasters, it's an International club that helps people to improve their speaking, communication, and leadership skills. This was the missing link that I was looking for!

Through Toastmasters I was able to come out of my shell and become a much more well rounded person. Not only was I in shape physically from years of bodybuilding and fitness - but I was able to build up my self esteem, communication skills, and gain self confidence as well. This was one of the best things I ever did for myself.

In this video, I share how I was able to go from feeling shy and self conscious - to self confident by applying the skills that I learned from attending Toastmasters meetings.
How to build self confidence...
