Subject: How I Got Ripped After 40

Lee Hayward's Total Fitness Bodybuilding Tips
Hey Friend,

Today I have a confession to make... You see even though I've been competing in bodybuilding since 1995, and I've gotten in peak contest shape over and over again...

I've secretly struggled with my weight and Yo-Yo dieting for over 20 years!

You see there's a dirty little secret among competitive bodybuilders, fitness models, and physique competitors...

That shredded look you see when they are onstage, or from their professional photo shoots - it's only temporary.

That's NOT how they look 99% of the time.

Most of them (myself included) would go on crazy starvation cutting diets, do endless hours of cardio, and suffer for months on end in order to get "Ripped".

Then as soon as the contest or photo shoot is over, they'll end up binge eating, go right back to their bad eating habits, and regain all the weight back again.

It's a vicious cycle and a very unhealthy way to live.

My body weight would regularly fluctuate up and down 40+ pounds between my "Off-Season Bulking" (which is really just a nice way of saying getting fat) to my "Pre-Contest Cutting".

And after I stopped competing in bodybuilding in 2011, I lost my motivation to get in shape...

Slowly the weight piled on. With no deadline of a competition or photo shoot in the future, I just got fatter and fatter.

And the crazy thing was I "knew" what I needed do to lose the weight, but I just couldn't motivate myself to do it.

Then after my wife Patricia gave birth to our son Harvey in 2016 - I hit Rock Bottom with my health and fitness. I was so exhausted from the challenges of raising a new baby, the sleepless nights and just being extra busy with being a new parent that I never had the time to go to the gym like I used to.

I kept telling myself that "I'll get back on track next week" - but next week kept getting pushed back further and further.

When it came to my eating, I was mentally and physically exhausted that I didn't feel like meal prepping...

I'd try and justify it by saying: "I'll just order a pizza tonight and start my diet tomorrow".

Then tomorrow would get pushed off to: "I'll start my diet on Monday".

And it kept getting pushed further and further back.

Before I knew it, I could hardly recognize the man staring back at me in the mirror...

Who was this fat slob?

It got to the point where I had to buy bigger jeans. My old dress shirts and suit jackets wouldn't button up anymore because they were stretched across my 40+ inch belly.

I felt disgusting and embarrassed to call myself a "fitness coach".

You see I figured that my problem was that I just didn't have the energy, motivation, or the will power. But it turned out that my willpower and motivation was NOT the problem.
