 Dear Friend:

“The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.” Harriet Ann Jacobs
From the North San Diego Flower Trail to Muir Woods in Marin County, the Spring Issue of Spirit of America Magazine celebrates spring in various California National Parks, such as Joshua Tree, Pinnacles, Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Point Reyes National Seashore.

Find out about the natural beauty and cultural heritage of park destinations including: Molokai, the “Friendly Isle” of Hawaii, charming Coronado Island in San Diego, Imperial National Wildlife Refuge and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Southern Arizona, Yerington in Nevada’s Pony Express Country, Cane River Creole National Historical Park in northwest Louisiana, and historic Springfield in central Kentucky. We even cross the pond for a glimpse into England’s beautiful National Park system!

The Arts are prominent in this issue with features covering artist-in-residence programs in national parks, the artists who historically portrayed the Cascade Mountains, photographers who showcase backroad travel and historic Route 66, and classic movies filmed in national parks. We also take a look at why parks are good for our heart, and action steps advocates can take to protect wildlife and the environment.
