Dear Friend:

| | Hello from the Great Smokey Mountains! Whether you finally take that trip to Iceland where you can soak in the infamous Blue Lagoon, or you jump into a midlife winemaking adventure like Peggy and Curt did at LDV Winery, this issue of Big Weekly Blend Magazine is all about “Going For It!”
What’s your “It?”
Is it about standing in front of a magnificent Giant Sequoia Tree and trying to hug what is the world’s largest tree by volume? Is it taking a cross-country road trip where you can experience Route 66, national parks, and wineries? Is it taking that much-needed break where you can relax and recharge at a Bed & Breakfast like Tiffany’s in Hot Springs, Arkansas (yep, talk about another soaking experience), or tap your feet to some downhome live music at The Lion & The Rose during Porchfest in Asheville, North Carolina? For travel writer Linda Ballou it was about returning to Kauai which played a big role in her becoming a world traveler, travel writer, and author. For Donna George, it was taking over ownership of The Peanut Patch where she worked over 26 years ago in a quest to keep the charm of country stores alive. Then there’s Rosie the Riveter, the iconic “We Can Do It” song and image that led women into the world of manufacturing and helped America’s victory in World War II. There are also all those who paved the way for the LGBTQ community to have a safe and fun place like Palm Springs to visit and enjoy as a vacation destination.
We say, “whatever floats your boat, canoe, or kayak….or maybe it’s even a gift shop, or a wine barrel, a welding machine, or a pen and paper… go for it!”
