 Dear Friend:

“One's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.” Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.
Last week we said our goodbye’s to Twentynine Palms and road tripped up scenic Highway 395 to Yerington, Nevada. This historic small town is an outdoor recreation destination as well as a stop for those following the Pony Express and California National Historic Trails. On Monday we visited Fort Churchill State Historic Park and trekked their Nature Trail along the beautiful Carson River, and toured some of the fort ruins. On Friday, we’re back on the road, heading east on Hwy. 50, America’s Loneliest Road,” to Clifton and Palisade, Colorado. The area is home to Colorado National Monument, and is known for its award-winning wines and orchards. Of course, we are keeping our masks on and maintaining social distance, plus, the areas we are visiting are small rural destinations that have a clean bill of health.
