We open the October issue with a topic particularly close to photonics in its most practical form – optical fibres. The Candela invites undergraduates and PhD students to visit the Corning factory, where they will be able to see at first hand how optical fibre solutions used in modern communications systems are manufactured.
In this issue, we also report on further investments in microelectronics and photonics, the commercialisation of quantum technologies, and the successes of Polish companies abroad.
We invite you to read on and, as always, to contribute to future issues.
