Wheel Throwing Three

Tuesdays, January 6 - 27

6:00PM - 9:00PM with Resident Artist Hannah Schelb

Refine your pottery wheel abilities. In this intermediate class, you will: achieve more even and thinner walls, alter forms on and off the wheel, create and refine lips, rims, and spouts, throw utility items, and use advanced glazing techniques to take your work to the next level.

Hot Hands: Utilizing the Torch in the Hotshop
February 6 - 8, 8:30AM - 5:00PM

with Resident Artist Tyler Suter

Learn the many facets of proper torch usage and maintenance, how to find and modify your own sculpting tools, and how to put those tools to use in combination with the torch. Glass 2 or equivalent is required.

Glass Masterclass

Join Ekin Aytac and Josh Davids at the Belger Glass Annex for a five-day masterclass designed for glass artists eager to elevate their work through a deep exploration of both additive and subtractive color application techniques. Engage in complex layering processes in the hot shop, precision manipulation in the cold shop, and create unique, multi-layered glass objects.


In addition to the masterclass, Aytac and Davids' visit includes two exciting public events:

  • A free glass blowing demonstration on First Friday, March 6 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Belger Glass Annex (1219 E. 19th St., KCMO)

  • A free artist talk on Tuesday, March 10 from 6 pm - 7 pm at the Belger Crane Yard Gallery (2011 Tracy Ave., KCMO)
