April 8 - August 6, 2016
Opening Reception April 14, 6 - 8 pm

The Belger Arts Center is proud to present Art of the Americas, curated by Licia Clifton-James, Vice President of the Pan American Association of Kansas City and wife of Kansas City Mayor Sly James. The exhibition includes works from 28 of the 35 countries represented in the Organization of American States.

Presented in partnership with the Pan American Association of Kansas City, Art of the Americas includes selected works from the Organization of American States’ Art Museum of the Americas in Washington, DC.

According to Clifton-James, “It is my hope that by viewing these works of art representing various peoples and cultures, that we will see the uniqueness and beauty of each culture and realize there is a large hemisphere connected to us, worthy of our acknowledgement, collaboration, and respect.”

The exhibition’s opening coincides with the national Pan American Day.

Summer Art Camp at Belger Arts Center

Make Art, Make Friends
Enroll in Summer Art Camp by May 14th and save 15%!

From July 11 - August 5, Belger Arts Center provides four one-week sessions of creative fun led by our experienced art educators. From themes like “Creature Feature” to “Clay Olympics,” each one-week session introduces new materials, techniques, and challenges to campers aged 7-12. Let your kids spend the summer making art, making friends, and making memories.

Have a teen artist? Our new Summer Studio Experience (June 20th - August 5), is designed for students aged 13 - 18 who want to experience what it’s like to work in a professional art studio in the Crossroads Arts District. Whether its throwing pots on the wheel, enlarging the scale of a hand-built sculpture, or experimenting with advanced firing techniques, our professional ceramic artists will help students achieve their personal goals. Each week-long session includes off-site studio and gallery visits and critiques from visiting artists.
