Kate Schroeder

Kate Schroeder is currently a Career Resident at Belger Crane Yard Studios and is most known for her whimsical "Shelfies". Her current work reflects the emotional impact of collecting objects and the balance of a domestic home and how nature is utilized within the space. Her work is featured in our resident exhibition IN/Residence, which has been extended until September 5th! The gallery is open for visitors Tuesday - Friday from 10 am - 5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am - 4 pm and online 24/7. To learn more about Schroeder and her work, check out her interview below.

IN/Residence Interview

Career Resident Kate Schroeder answers a few questions about her creative practice and the work featured in the current Belger Crane Yard Studios IN/Residence exhibition.

The 2019-2020 Resident Artists at Belger Crane Yard Studios are proud to present the Small Works Shop, launching today, August 14th at noon CDT! The residents each made a limited series of small sculptures and objects specifically for this online exhibition. Each artist will have 10 pieces available and here comes the best part: 3 of those 10 will be priced at a collector’s special of $75! This is to welcome and encourage ceramic enthusiasts to begin their art collection. We recommend you set your alarm, because last year pieces went fast!

Proceeds from the exhibition go directly to the artists to support their studio practices. This is the final activity of this amazing resident cohort – our first all-lady group (of total boss babes)! The participating artists are Amanda Bury, Elaine Buss, Lilly Powell, and Kate Schroeder.
