Belger Crane Yard Studios presents Vibrant: The Art of Christina Erives, Lauren Mabry, and Shalene Valenzuela, public opening Friday, October 2, 6 pm – 9 pm at 2011 Tracy Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64108.  The exhibition will remain on view through December 31, 2020.

Vibrant is an exploration of the application of color and the manipulation of ceramic surfaces by three distinct artists.  Christina Erives’ vibrant and often playful works vividly illustrate personal stories and celebrate rituals and traditions of her Mexican culture. The lush surfaces of Lauren Mabry’s abstract, cylindrical forms convey her fascination with experimentation, color, and visual movement.  Shalene Valenzuela’s porcelain surfaces entice viewers to discover narratives that lie just below chromatic depictions of mundane, household activities. While each artist’s work is uniquely inspired, they all share a technical focus and an embrace of color that evokes emotion and engages the senses.
