Fun in the Ceramics Studios

Ceramics Classes

Interested in learning how to sculpt flora and fauna? Resident artist Gina Pisto teaches Flower Sculpting in October. Visit our "Classes" page for current offerings at the Belger Crane Yard Studios (2011 Tracy Ave., KCMO), including afternoon and evening beginning wheel, handbuilding, jewelry making, mold making, intermediate goblet making, and more!

Date Night

Don't forget about Date Night every Friday and Saturday evening (6:30-8:30 pm) at the Belger Arts Center (2100 Walnut, KCMO). Bring your sweetheart, a friend, or family member and enjoy a creative evening in the Crossroads Arts District. Learn to throw on the wheel, decorate what you make, and we'll fire and glaze it. Your finished work can be picked up one month after class. Date Night sells out quickly, so don't delay!

Belger Glass Annex

Classes & Experiences

Make Your Own Candy Dish

Indulge your creative craving and treat yourself to a unique artistic experience by making your own glass candy dish on Saturday, September 23 at the Belger Glass Annex (1219 E. 19th St., KCMO) Pick a time that works with your schedule and work with a professional glassblower who will guide you through the process of shaping molten glass into a candy dish. You can "Make Your Own" pumpkin in October and ornament in November and December, too.

Learn Glassblowing

Venture into a new creative realm this fall. We offer introductory glassblowing, and you choose the format that works best with your schedule: a four-week class or a weekend intensive.

Once you've taken Glass 1, you can attend weekly Open Studio sessions to continue honing your skills.

New Encalmo Workshop: January 20-21, 2024

The Belger Glass Annex is a great place to start your glassblowing journey with Glass 1 and Glass 2 classes. It's also a great place to expand your glassblowing skill set.

Join Tyler Kimball for a weekend workshop focused on the encalmo process, a traditional technique that brings together multiple facets of glassblowing to create distinct blocks of color, stripes, and other patterns.
