Every year on May 20th, the world celebrates the vital role bees and other pollinators play in food security, biodiversity, and healthy ecosystems.
At BeekeepingHub.com®, we believe that everyone — from farmers to city dwellers — can do something to support pollinators.
Here are 5 simple ways you can make a difference this week:
🌸 1. Plant Pollinator-Friendly Flowers Bees love lavender, foxgloves, borage, basil and wildflowers. Plant a patch in your garden, balcony, or even a window box! They also help other pollinators.
⛔ 2. Go Pesticide-Free Avoid using harmful pesticides or weed killers. They often do more harm than good for beneficial insects. Substitute herbacide for horticultural vinegar at 20% and salt with water.
🌾 3. Support Local Beekeepers Buying local honey and beeswax products helps small-scale beekeepers keep healthy hives — and protects local bee populations. Often, you get local honey with taste you will NEVER get in the retail shops. And it tastes fantastic!
🧒 4. Teach Someone About Bees Share a fun bee fact with a child, friend, or co-worker. Education sparks change!
💛 5. Sponsor a Beekeeper or Hive This World Bee Day, we’re offering a special chance to "sponsor a hive or beginner beekeeper" through an [Adopt-a-Bee initiative]. Your support helps train the next generation of bee guardians. |
