My contribution to the Compendium of Satan is called "Void Gnosis: The Dharma of Satanism." This essay explores the nature of Satanic initiation through a mixture of critical analysis and ritual gnosis. It draws on various currents from western philosophy and Buddhist philosophy to chart a path toward Black Apotheosis.

In writing this essay, I tried to capture the direct experience of Satanic gnosis and translate it into terms that could be put to use by other practitioners. One of the text's theses is that messages from spirits are part of a hermeneutical circle that extends forward and backward in time. The message that arises in ritual evocation reflects the past in that it is filtered through the operator's psychological structures. The full significance of the message is fulfilled in subsequent life experience and personal transformation. In that sense, the process of interpretation is itself an unfolding of the original spiritual communication.

I devote some of the text to questioning the nature of magick and the nature of occult entities. In the text, I suggest that this sort of questioning can aid the cultivation of magical power and spiritual liberation. The ability to practice magick is inversely proportional to the solidity of one's reifications. Energetic questions are more powerful than energetic beliefs in order to allow for dialogue, dialectic, and creativity.

The approach to the occult that I advise is grounded in a methodological commitment to skepticism. By skepticism, I don't mean an attitude that unfairly and prematurely dismisses unexplained phenomena. I mean an intellectual orientation of open-ended open-mindedness. My object in fusing skepticism with occultism is not to question whether occult entities are "real" but to emphasize the critical ambiguity in what it means to be "real."

The text is centered largely on interpreting a series of channeled verses I received from Satan. These verses acted as the impetus for a significant expansion in my understanding of Satanic magick and mysticism and the role that the Satanic archetype plays in global conscious evolution.

Some of the themes explored in this section are as follows:

• Left-hand path initiation can be understood in terms of apostasy, philosophical dialectic, and self-overcoming.
• Satan seeks to destroy the "kingdom." In the context of this essay, this represents ideological structures of psychological control.
• The nonduality of adversity and power is a powerful and transformative perspective that can facilitate black apotheosis.
• Satan is a force that seeks to overthrow and undermine everything that is less than ultimately real. In this sense, Satanic initiation demands that all illusions and limiting beliefs should be sacrificed on the altar of transfiguration.

The final section of the text offers an initial sketch for the practice of Satanic Tantra. In Buddhism, Tantra signifies a style of practice that allows for the attainment of complete realization in a single lifetime through the transmutation of afflictive and mundane experience. In this section of the essay, I lay bare essential secrets for cultivating deep and potentially transformative meditation states. You will learn how to cultivate altered states known variously as jhana, dhyana, and samadhi. These states are the prerequisite for both spiritual realization and supernormal powers. You will also learn a technique for inducing visionary states that are more vivid and tangible than sense experience and ordinary waking consciousness.

The text concludes with a Tantric ritual through which you can suspend your conventional identity and manifest as Baphomet. The ritual formalizes many of the supernormal visionary experiences from my pathworking in a liturgical format. In the context of this practice, Baphomet is used as an iconographic representation of the initiatory current of esoteric Satanism. The instructions for this ritual synthesize techniques inspired by Sutra Mahamudra, Anuttarayoga, and Dzogchen.

If you study the techniques in this essay carefully and put them into practice in a disciplined and consistent way, you will find that they significantly amplify the power of your magick. You will also find that they open gateways of spiritual transformation. The text is designed to function on multiple levels, first calling into question the meaning of various occult presuppositions and later deconstructing intuitive notions about reality itself. My hope in writing it was to deepen and enrich the practice of Satanic magick, and to act as an effective channel for the Satanic current. Please give it a read. I'm confident you'll find it useful!
