Hello Friend,

I am Vampiric Adept, N.D. Blackwood, author of the new master-grimoire Encyclopædia of Wamphyrism live to order right now.

To see my earlier experiences and discoveries with the Draculean Chain right now, please see my two previous grimoires Draugadrottinn and Scholomance. Today, I would like to discuss the God of Night, Noctulius.

Noctulius The God Of Night

Noctulius is a deity whose name haunts the pages of Anglo-Saxon vampiric literature.

It was through the English Satanism current from the 80s that it was first popularized in our time. The booklet containing the ritual instructions for evocation did not however contain a considerable amount of information, apart from the fact that he is a god of the night, patron of nightside activities, linked to the Terrestrial Sphere, and whose the favorite incense was Petrichor, and its chant was G Minor.

Subsequently, his name will return in other booklets from different authors without without ever being given any further specification about him.

E.A. Koetting Introduced Noctulius To Me

It was through E.A. Koetting that I first discovered the name Noctulius. As I was beginning my research on the Undead and the Chains and orders attached to the mysteries of the current. I had hitherto been interested in various immortality hypotheses from the Middle East, and particularly Sumerian and Babylonian magick.

However, one aspect offended me about them, the living authors dealing with this type of magick claimed that the gods evoked during the rituals were mere psychological masks, and less beings with an existence of their own. I questioned E.A on this subject, asking him if during his own studies and peregrination, he had heard of a current or an entity who is not a mere mask, but indeed an immortal being capable of pass on their secrets in exchange in return. This was how the name of the Dark God first came to my ears.

A few nights after that, I was standing in front of my altar, opening myselt to the spirit of Noctulius for the first time in my life. What happened next changed my perceptions of both the Immortal Chain and magick in general. I had summoned and encountered someone who was not a simple thoughtform, nor really an earth-bound spirit — someone who was not human, although proud and merciless, but fair.

My Lifelong Gnosis With The God Of Night

Ever since that day, I have dedicated myself to the God of Night. I have conducted research in different languages to discover that Noctulius was far from merely being a name that appeared in recent English literature. In fact, he was an antique being, who has been documented for over a millenium in the Trans-Alpine region of Europe. Years have passed, and I feel as intrigued as I was that first night, as Noctulius is a guide to many stars, spaces, and dimensions unknown to human consciouness.

In my new 356-page book, Encyclopedia of Wamphyrism, I have developed my own extensive magick research about Noctulius, based on archaeological evidence, books published in France and Italy during the past three centuries, as well as a ritual to embrace the current of Noctulius. In the online video course that goes with it, E.A. Koetting and I have developd in detail our own experiences with the Dark God, and how working with him differs from any being whom we gave ever come across in our common background.
