E.A. Koetting: Now is Enochian Magick for everybody? It's a stupid question that has an obvious answer, but I'll throw that to you. Is this for everyone?

Bill Duvendack: Well, it's not a stupid question and it's not for beginners. So, if you're beginning, you might want to think twice, do a little more research. And when I say research here, I don't mean research Enochian — I mean learning basic magick fundamentals like invocation, evocation, ritual tools, and things like that.

E.A. Koetting: You should have a foundation in spirit communication, scrying, the necessities of being able to actually make contact.

Bill Duvendack: Exactly, exactly. And even though you can use Enochian if you have spiritual wounds, I would encourage you to deal with those spiritual wounds before you work with Enochian. An example of a spiritual wound is if you are raised Christian, you left Christianity, embraced the Left Hand Path, but you're still of the mindset of "screw you Christianity." That's that spiritual wound that needs heal. You'll know you're healed when you can look at it and say, that's Christianity. When it does not get that knee-jerk emotional response.

E.A. Keotting: So, you have to treat Enochian Magick in a similar way of integrating trauma. When you can look at the trauma and go, oh, that's too bad that that happened, but on with my day.

Bill Duvendack: And that's the best descriptor of it. Yeah. It's incorporating trauma, it's post-traumatic growth, not post-traumatic stress disorder. You got to have these things straight because working with it, it will challenge you on all of those.

E.A. Keotting: Yeah, so, in the way that you've been able to adapt this, and really any way of approaching this, are people going to be required to call on the name of Jesus and to use the Holy Spirit to do anything with this? Do they have to turn towards that, or is that all superfluous and unnecessary?

Bill Duvendack: They don't have to turn that direction. They can if they want, if they feel compelled to, but they don't have to. And the reason for that is because so much work has been done on Enochian over the last 60 years, it's pretty open. It's opened it up quite a bit, and that's not even counting Crowley's contributions 60 years before that.

E.A. Keotting: But, I think we can agree that the Enochian beings, this power, this entire kingdom that's peering into us, it didn't just appear to Dee and Kelley and then disappear. It's something that is alive with us, that's still leading, I would say technology science, medicine, and art. It is the spirit of The Renaissance that's still in motion.

Bill Duvendack: Yes, and a little bit of backstory here for people listening to this — the remains of Dee's library were the seed for the British Library. And that's one, in a broad sense, and I know purists out there are going to roll their eyes when they hear this, but in a broad sense, that's how this material stayed a live.

E.A. Keotting: Wow, well, what that gave birth to as far as just the information protection with that particular library, not only did they do a lot to preserve, but also to keep eyes away from certain material. Now we are in an "age of exposure" and "age of revelation" in which those hidden things are now coming to the surface, and there's a lot of that in this work that you put forth. There's a lot of the things that are true to the system, but just haven't been noticed in the way that you have noticed them.

Bill Duvendack: Exactly, and that was the whole point of getting all this in print. When we discovered new material, I wanted it incorporated into the Enochian tradition. I wanted people to see that the Enochian current, the egregore, is growing and evolving just like we as a species are.

E.A. Keotting: And it's been pretty esoteric up until now, as far as how to even get started. I know I've picked up several books trying to figure it out, and my math skills are just not on point. My ability to follow a lot of these authors and what they're suggesting — they tend to lose me in the weeds of all of their ideas about it, rather than the actual practice. And so it sounds like you've been able to keep this to your practice and then to support that practice with the facts and with your context of your experiences.

Bill Duvendack: Yes, Wails of the Wandering Angels is very much in a workbook format, even to the degree that one of the appendices has a blank Tablet template that you can photocopy and use to make your own.

E.A. Keotting: Oh, beautiful.

Bill Duvendack: If you don't want to make your own, I've still got a version in there that people are more than welcome to use until they make their own. And I list exercises and I list the formulas, intending for people to do the work.
