Quite literally, these magicks have been present since the dawn of time, and traces of them can be found all around the world, through many great myths, some of which serve as the cornerstones of ancient civilizations. From the myth of the Anunnaki to the ancient cult of Zalmoxis, including the legend of Camazotz, our planet is teeming with predatory deities and lycanthropies, whose worship is often associated with the Quest of Immortality and the Realm of Shadows.

I would like to recognize three distinct Paths at this moment. Of course, more exist, however I would like to concentrate your awareness on these three as you enter into the Chain.

The Evolutionary Path, which appears to be dominant within societies and lodges across the Atlantic is linked to the practice of Wamphyrism. Within this Path, the Initiate will evoke various Vampiric entities of different natures and origins, learning from each of them in the hopes of becoming like them day after day and night after night. Equipped with the appropriate grimoire, the Practitioner of this Path can approach deities and spirits in the order that suits them, entering into pacts with each of them in order to develop themselves further.

The traditional Path in classical Europe is that of the Dark Gift, through which the Initiate joins the Chain of the Non-Mortals, becoming one of the links in the Chain, and thereby escaping the phenomenon of the second death.

Through a high Necromantic ritual, they will open a permanent gateway within themselves to those in the Chain, who will transform their higher bodies, crystallizing them into a vehicle known as the Body of Black Light. If my previous book, Scholomance, provided rituals to summon about 15 of these Ascended Beings to you, and this current Encyclopedia will reveal the entirety of the notes from my predecessors in the Green Order. It also discloses the cursed locations that serve as resting places for these Lords of the Undead, and the rituals for evoking several dozen of them.

There exist even more unfathomable Dark Mysteries, lost among the crumbled tablets and antique myths of the lost civilizations of Akkad, Babylon, and Sumer. It's the myth of fantastic beings, both civilizers and destroyers, revered by humans as divinities.

These star-born beings are incomprehensible to human thought, and in their presence, the human psyche often quickly falters. They are the Great Old Ones in the slumber of exile, whom the Initiate must first come to know if they hope to unravel the Mysteries of the Extraterrestrial Path. Tiamat, Pazuzu, Labartu, and Nergal, and other such terrible names that I will approach in this Encyclopedia with an esoteric perspective and unique rituals, will allow the boldest of Adepts to leap into the Abyss and meet those from the Outside, from the Outer Darkness.
