Fire risk analysis of residential buildings
Fire is detrimental for the development of human society, and it has become
an inevitable part of human civilization. Among different types of
disasters, fire constitutes a significant threat to life and property in
urban and rural areas.

Creating an atmosphere in which employees are confident in their
abilities to assess and fight fires has a positive knock-on effect
throughout your team of staff. People will feel safer when there is a way out of a disaster.

Fire risk assessment in buildings comprises of three steps which includes fire risk
identification, fire risk analysis, and fire risk evaluation. The risk assessment of a system consists of the use of all available
information to estimate the risk of loosing individuals, property and environment from identified hazards, the comparison with
targets, and the search for optimal solutions.

Fire extinguishers are among the items we own that we do not want to use. These devices end up on the wall or at the corner of the room gathering dust. This makes other homeowners doubt if they really need one but the truth is that we all need one while some of us actually need more than just one.

In other to choose an appropriate fire extinguisher, you must first identify the hazards that are present, you must recognize even
trace amounts of each fire classification to determine the proper
number of extinguishers required, Next, you must determine the size of the fire extinguisher and
establish the quantity of extinguishers needed by the coverage allowed
per Local and National fire codes. Lastly, you must distribute the
portable fire extinguishers per the allowable travel distance to each
fire extinguisher.

FIRE SAFETY TIPS

To survive a building fire:

If you get caught in smoke, get down and crawl, taking short breaths through the nose. Cleaner, cooler air will be near the floor. Get Low – And Go.

Before opening any doors, feel the door knob. If it is hot, don’t open the door. If it is cool, open it slightly, and if heat or heavy smoke are present, close the door and stay in the room.

If the nearest exit is blocked by fire, heat or smoke, go to another exit. Always use an exit stairwell, not an elevator. Elevator shafts may fill with smoke or the power may fail, leaving you trapped. Stairwell fire doors will keep out fire and smoke-if they are closed-and will protect you until you get outside.

Everyone has a story

A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train’s window shouted…
“Dad, look the trees are going behind!”
Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed…
“Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”
The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man…
“Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?”The old man smiled and said…“I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today.
Every single person on the planet has a story. Don’t judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.
