We understand the stresses of “What wine should I get for dinner this week?” that lies in the back of mind during work all week but fret not! Barsha has come to make your life that much simpler.

We welcome you to our new weekly pairing series where we will give you a red and white wine along with a meal that will pair with it. We will break down tasting notes and what makes it the perfect combo. We hope this helps ease the stress of finding that perfect wine!

Without further adieu, here is Barsha’s Weekly Pairing Guide.

RED
Harmonium 2017
Nero d’Avola
Sicily, Italy
34.99

Soft fruity nose with some vanilla and fresh herbs. Very silky mouthfeel. Elegant and spicy. Lots of spice and fruit on the taste. Good persistent aftertaste finishing off the wine with a bit of exotic spice.
FOOD
Oxtail Soup

The Nero’s bold fruit flavors pair perfectly with rich meaty dishes. Some spices that will pair very well with Nero d’Avola (that you might not have considered) include anise, orange rind, bay leaf, sage, cocoa powder, asian plum sauce, and coffee.

WHITE
I Carpini Timorasso 2016
Timorasso
Colli Tortonesi, Italy
27.99

This opens with aromas of acacia flower, lemon peel and a whiff of hazelnut. The vibrant alate offers citrus zest, Macintosh apple and a touch of raw almond alongside bright acidity.
FOOD
Seafood Pasta Baked in Parchment Paper

The florals of the wine compliment the creaminess from the sauce to the T. This provides a lovely combination of complexities that make for a one-of-a-kind dinner.
