The Tom Bass Sculpture Studio welcomes everyone—from complete beginners to experienced artists, explore the art of sculpture and drawing in a supportive, inspiring environment.

6 Week Life Drawing for Sculptors with Simon Harris

Sat 1 Aug - 12 Sep*| 2:30—5:30pm

Fee: $480 (incl GST and basic materials)

Back by popular demand this 6-week life drawing course focuses on learning to see and draw the human figure as a three-dimensional form. Work from a live model each week, developing gesture, structure, light and anatomy, and complete a final study that strengthens sculptural practice.

Sculpture in a Day: Carving Soapstone with Karen Alexander

Sun 23 Aug | 10am—4pm

Fee: $255, or book for two or more $225

(Fees include GST, a small piece of soapstone and use of tools.)

Create a small, finished soapstone sculpture in this one-day workshop. Soapstone is a soft, easily carved stone with beautiful natural patterns, available in a variety of colours. You’ll be guided in using rasps and files to gradually reveal the hidden organic shapes and forms within—resulting in your very own unique sculpture to take home.

A fun, creative and meditative one-day experience—perfect for those short on time, or a great taste tester for anyone curious about carving in stone.

Our popular 3 Day Limestone Carving Workshop with guest teacher Paul Hopmeier is back!

Fri 9 - Sun 11 October | 10am—4pm

Fees: $595 (inc GST, use of tools and a block of limestone)

Over three days, learn the skills needed to carve your own unique sculpture in limestone. Guest teacher Paul Hopmeier is an established sculptor and artist and brings his wealth of knowledge to this popular workshop. Enjoy carving in a group atmosphere, beginners to advanced welcome.
