Subject: What to do with coins you no longer want (or inherited)

We all end up with extra coins we no longer want, but what can you do with them?

Hey Friend

Quick clarification because I know how this topic can sound...

When I teach 'selling' in the Masterclass, it’s not about becoming a dealer, or being “in it for profit.”

It’s about being practical:

  • We all end up with coins we no longer want, or duplicates,
  • Selling a few things can fund new coins, and
  • If you’ve inherited coins, you need a safe, confident way to handle it.
When it comes to selling, there are 2 types of costs – financial and time.

You can take your coins to a dealer, but they will only give you a fraction of what they’re worth (they need to make a profit). You can take it to an auction house, and you'll probably get a higher price, but it will take longer for them to make the sale. You can sell it yourself online, but that means you have to do the work (photos, text, etc).

There are other selling options too, and they all have their own pros and cons.

That’s why I spend an entire module in the Coin Collecting Masterclass going through the options (and traps) for selling items from your collection. That means:
  • What is the best place to sell (this depends a lot on what you’re selling)
  • Where are the buyers for items like yours?
  • What is a reasonable price to ask?
  • Should your item be graded?
  • What are the fees and hidden charges to be aware of?
This is just scratching the surface, but we’ll go through a process to help you make informed decisions if you're selling items from your collection.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reply.
