A friend asked if I would consider creating an audiobook version of the Pirate Guide. For a brief moment, I imagined how that would sound with a 'nature documentary' narrator voice...

But then it got weird when trying to describe details like the wavy baseline! Translation: coin collecting is a very visual hobby.

That said, I have received some insightful questions from collectors, so I thought I’d answer the most common ones here:

Q: What’s the difference between the paperback and ebook versions?
A: Both versions contain the same core information, but they each have different advantages.
> The paperback is great for collectors who enjoy flipping through a physical book and keeping it beside them while sorting coins. It's also great for taking notes about your collection.
> The ebook version is portable, searchable, easy to zoom into, and always available on your phone, tablet or computer. It also gets updated with new coins during the year. It's your portable field guide.

Q: Can I have the Pirate Guide ebook on BOTH my computer AND my phone at the same time?
A: Yes, you can download and keep a copy on multiple devices at once (eg computer, phone and tablet).

Q: Can I access the ebook WITHOUT internet access?
A: Yes, once you've saved the PDF files onto your device, you can access it on your phone, tablet or computer even if you have no internet access.

Q: How much are updates for the ebook?
A: Once you buy the ebook, you'll receive FREE updates during the year as new 2026 coins are released. The final ebook version will be released around December 2026 and will include:
