There is a new Two Dollar coin being released tomorrow - it commemorates the Torres Strait Islander Flag and it's going into circulation. This is what the C-Mintmark versions will look like:

There are 3 versions of this coin:

1. The version going into circulation - mintage unknown
2. A C-mintmark uncirculated coin ($22 RRP) - 100,000 mintage
3. A Silver Proof version of the C-Mintmark coin ($90 RRP) - 7,500 mintage.

Dealers will also be selling rolls of the circulating coin for $100 (with a mintage of 15,000 rolls).

I haven't seen any ballots or listings on dealer sites yet, so they will likely start first thing tomorrow. A few dealers have mentioned that they'll start selling at 8:00 or 8:30 AEST tomorrow.

However, the RAM have opened their ballot this morning for the two C-Mintmark versions (see link above).

The coin commemorates 30 years since the Torres Strait Islander Flag was proclaimed an official flag of Australia. Here is more information about the coin itself:

The purple poppy coin (from late 2024) is only just appearing in circulation now, so it could be a little while before we see the circulated version of this new coin in our change. But please let me know if you find them!
