Two new coin sets and lots more - It's a busy time for coin collecting...

AustraliaCoins.org

Hey Friend

It's a crazy time for coin collecting at the moment. I've got a few quick updates for you about new coins, coin shows and other info.

Coin Shows!

First up, I will be attending 2 coin shows in the next 2 weekends:
1. Brisbane Stamp & Coin Show - this weekend (7 & 8 November).
2. Sydney ANDA show - next weekend (14 & 15 November).

There are details about both shows at the bottom of this email.

If you want me to bring any items to either show (so you can save on postage), please let me know!

New Coins

There are 2 different sets of coins being released over the next week.

1. Our Animals, Our Country
This set was released through Australia Post (and the RAM) this week.
All-6-Coins
There is a tube with five $1 coins and the customary folder. (As always, I don't recommend using these folders to store your coins - it exposes them to the air, and will damage them over time).

One in ten of the tubes have a coloured version of the crocodile coin.

The coloured $2 coin (with the goanna) will go into circulation. This $2 coin is not in the tubes, but you can get it in change when you pay with cash at Aus Post during the promotion period.

2. 'Last Post' $2 coin
Next Tuesday (November 10), we have the final circulating coin for 2026. This coin commemorates the 'Last Post' song, and is released in time for 11/11.

It makes a nice companion to the $2 'Dawn Service' coin from ANZAC Day earlier this year. The coin on the left is the $2 'Dawn Service' coin (that was released back in April for ANZAC Day), and the coin on the right is the new 'Last Post' coin that is being released next week.

There will be a C-mintmark coin and a silver proof version of the C-mintmark coin.

I imagine that there will also be rolls of the circulating coin available to buy from dealers (this will get announced closer to the release date).

Mintage update

The Royal Australian Mint has released their 2025-26 annual report. It has details of the mintages for the financial year ending June 30, 2026. (It doesn't relate to coins from July 1 onwards).

I'll cover more about this in the future, but if you like to read these reports, it's available now:
www.ramint.gov.au/about-us/compliance-and-reporting/annual-reports

Good hunting if you're collecting the new coins, and if you're near Brisbane this weekend, I hope to see you at the Stamp & Coin Show (details below).

Cheers

Damian
