Since we last spoke, you may have come across other providers using similar terms — so I wanted to send a clear reminder of what disability accommodation with Ausnew actually includes, in case it helps as you weigh things up. The Property Is Not the Same as the Support Disability accommodation refers to the physical home — designed and built to support your needs. It may be fully accessible, designed for high physical support, or built to provide a robust, safe environment depending on what your situation calls for.
But the support that comes with that home — the team that helps with daily routines, morning care, meal preparation, overnight assistance, and community participation — is a separate layer. For many of our residents, that support is available around the clock.
Shared Support — A Smarter Way to Access 24/7 Care In our shared properties, support hours and staffing costs are shared across housemates, which makes a high level of ongoing support genuinely achievable within most NDIS plans. |
