TRANSITING URANUS IN GEMINI
After an 84 year absence, transiting Uranus returned to Gemini on July 7, where it will spend the next few months reacquainting itself with the Twins before it heads back into Taurus to wrap up any unfinished business with the Bull before embarking on what promises be an epic 7-year cycle.
And I mean EPIC.
Not just because it will coincide with a major war and mind-bending technological breakthroughs, but because it will introduce us to the artificial Intelligence that Pluto in Aquarius will use and at times wield to transform humanity.
But that's a deeper topic for another day. 😁
The Purpose of Transiting Uranus
Whether it's on the collective level or the personal one, the purpose of transiting Uranus is to change the status quo.
While Uranus was in Taurus, its style of expression was fixed (consistent, determined, resistant to change). Now that it is in Gemini, it's expression is mutable (flexible, adaptable, change-oriented), and the change-oriented nature of the Twins will make it much easier for Uranus to get the job done.
Since Uranus is the planet of disruption, separation, liberation and sudden, unexpected or shocking changes, its events occur quickly and often come as a blindside.
However, that is not to say or imply that all Uranus-related changes come in the form of an upset, a crisis or a negative situation. The truth is that Uranus change can just as easily bring out-of-the-blue events that take you from rags to riches, from last place to first, or from bondage to liberation in the blink of an eye.
Revolutionary Ideas
Historically speaking, Uranus in Gemini is associated with revolutionary ideas and extreme opinions that have led to civil unrest, political uprisings, insurrection and war, as well as supply chain interruptions, economic upheaval and technological innovations.
Since its previous cycles have coincided with the American Revolutionary War, the Civil War and WW2, it suggests that at some point during this cycle the USA will be involved in a war.
In and of itself, Uranus in Gemini doesn't specify whether it will be a foreign war or a civil one. Given the USA's increasing involvement in armed conflicts beyond its borders, it seems likely that it will be a foreign war.
However, since Uranus is a planet of separation (secession), its divisive nature could coincide with an internal one and when you factor in the duality of the Twins, it's possible that we will see more than one type of war while Uranus is in Gemini.
Technological Developments
Uranus has a well-earned reputation for coinciding with technological advancements, and while it is in Gemini we can expect to see breakthroughs in communications, education, transportation and information and delivery systems, as well as medical breakthroughs related to the brain, arms, hands and nervous system.
Artificial Intelligence
Although artificial intelligence has been around for years, ever since Pluto (transformation) made its ingress into Aquarius (technology) its roots have deepened and expanded to the point that it is a commonplace presence in our daily lives.
Now that Uranus (technology) is in Gemini (intelligence), its widespread implementation will pick up speed as the planet of progressive ideas and sudden change helps it spread like wildfire.
While that's not necessarily a bad thing, there are pitfalls that are likely to arise from its widespread incorporation in education, government and private industry related to the accuracy of its programming and the intended purpose for its use, as well as unforeseen (Uranus) consequences that arise from its use,
Communications
Given its unstable nature, it is very likely that as Uranus makes its way through Gemini (communications and networks) we will experience an increase in technology-related service interruptions. Since Uranus is a planet of extremes with a penchant for mayhem, it brings in the possibility of a widespread outage that lead to chaos.
Freedom of Speech
Freedom (Uranus) of speech (Gemini) and the right to privacy are likely to become key points of rebellion (Uranus) during this cycle, most likely in response to an increase of technological censorship of opinions (Gemini) on social media.
On a different note, although the Twins are known for forming and expressing their own opinions, while Uranus is here they may run a risk of falling prey to group think or a hive mind mentality.
Urban Development
In addition to an increase in smart cities, which incorporate digital solutions (Uranus) connected to communication and transportation (Gemini) to improve efficiency, we can expect to see the rise of 15-Minute Cities, where everything is within a 15-minute walk in a local neighborhood (Gemini).
Digital IDs
With facial recognition, retina display, palm prints, and the REAL ID drivers license (Gemini) already here, we can expect this cycle to bring more extensive, or depending on your viewpoint more invasive, forms of digital IDs.
Logistics
Although it is often overlooked, Gemini rules logistics and distribution methods. While Uranus is visiting the Twins, drones and self-driving vehicles for retail packages and expedited mail services will become more commonplace.
Let's Get Personal
A change in your status quo is most likely to come when Uranus enters a new house (or aspects a planet or sensitive point).
For those of you who know where your houses begin and end, it's likely that even though Uranus has changed its sign, it hasn't changed its house.
As noted earlier, since Uranus is no longer in Taurus, its style of expression is no longer fixed (consistent, determined, resistant to change). Now that it is in Gemini, it's expression is mutable (flexible, adaptable, change-oriented), and the change-oriented nature of the Twins will make it easier for Uranus to get the job done.
