Subject: Some Tense Days Ahead + Venus Goes Retrograde

Dear Stargazers,

Before we dive in, I just want to remind you that registration for Make Sense of Your Horoscope opens on Wednesday, September 30. Check your inbox that afternoon for all of the details.

Looking ahead, this week promises to be an interesting one. Mercury enters Scorpio, Venus stations retrograde and the planetary action at the end of the week packs a punch.

And that's not all. Some unusually long Void of Course Moons mean you may have to tiptoe around them to get things done.

So let's get started!

ASTROLOGICAL FORECAST
September 28 - October 4 (EST)

Void of Course Moon

These periods are not the best times to start something new or engage in activities that need a definite result.

September 28: 05:51 AM — 10:41 AM

September 29: 07:37 PM — 11:59 PM

September 30: 12:00 AM — 01:27 PM

October 01: 10:43 AM — 11:59 PM

October 02: 12:00 AM — 03:55 PM

October 03: 11:09 AM — 11:59 PM

October 04: 12:00 AM — 6:55 PM

Monday, September 28 • Sun in Libra Trine Uranus in Gemini

Despite the morning’s high-octane energy, the Aries Moon is void until 10:41 AM, so it’s best to hold off on anything that requires a definite outcome. Once the Moon enters Taurus, the pace becomes calmer, leaving room to enjoy the opportunities that the Sun-Uranus trine could bring your way.

Whenever the Sun and Uranus are in harmony, there’s often a desire to break from routine, try something different and enjoy new experiences. Since this trine is occurring in Libra and Gemini, two signs that thrive on social interactions and the exchange of ideas, you may find yourself more interested than usual in connecting with other people.

Tuesday, September 29

If you have a lot on your plate and need to make work your top priority, the Taurus Moon is a grounding influence that can help you focus, stick with what you’re doing and get things done.

On a different note, there’s a sensual side to this lunar influence that could inspire you to enjoy good food, go shopping or indulge in anything else that appeals to your senses.

At 7:37 PM, the Moon goes void for the rest of the night, making it a good time to relax, kickback and catch up on your favorite shows.

Wednesday, September 30 • Mercury enters Scorpio

With a void Moon until 1:27 PM, it’s best to focus on routine matters rather than tasks or assignments that need a definite outcome. However, once the Moon enters Gemini, it’s full speed ahead, and if you’ve been waiting to get started on something, you can make up for lost time.

In other planetary news, Mercury enters Scorpio today, where it will remain until December 6 due to a retrograde cycle that runs from October 24 through November 13.

While Mercury is in Scorpio, it's an excellent time for research, investigation and tackling anything that require you to look beneath the surface. During this time, you may find yourself scrutinizing words, dissecting actions and digging for information about whatever happens to pique your interest.

You may also find that you become more guarded about what you’re thinking, as well as more selective about what you share and with whom.

Thursday, October 1 • Moon is Void Most of the Day

At 10:43 AM, the Moon goes void for the rest of the day. The best use of its energy is to focus on anything that does not require a definite outcome.

Since Gemini is the natural ruler of the 3rd house, you can expect to make better-than-usual strides with routine paperwork, correspondence, emails, phone calls and errands. It’s also a good time to catch up on reading.

Under this stimulating Gemini Moon, new ideas can capture your interest and your attention may be pulled in several directions. It may also be harder to stay focused on one thing for very long.

If the day allows for it, a leisurely car ride with no particular destination in mind could also be an enjoyable way to spend part of this void Moon day.

Friday, October 2 • Mercury square Mars and Pluto • Mars trine Neptune

The day begins with a void Moon that lasts until it enters Cancer at 3:55 PM Eastern. While the Moon is void, its “nothing comes of the matter” nature may help take some of the steam out of the day’s more volatile aspects. Once the Moon enters Cancer, however, emotions can run higher and people may be more sensitive than usual.

With Mercury at odds with both Mars and Pluto, it won’t take much for a disagreement to turn into an argument. Under this volatile influence, tempers may be short, people may jump to conclusions and attempts to force ideas or opinions on others could quickly cause tensions to escalate.

You may also encounter interruptions that make it difficult to concentrate or find yourself obsessing over a problem or situation. If so, rather than allowing it to consume your attention, put that mental intensity to good use by doing research, solving a problem or tackling something that requires your complete concentration.

Fortunately, the softer influence of the Mars-Neptune trine can help offset some of the day’s more combative energy. This aspect can heighten sensitivity toward others and lessen the need to push your own agenda. It’s also a positive influence for relaxing, meditating, creative activities, healing and spiritual practices.

Saturday, October 3 • Mars opposite Pluto • Venus stations retrograde

At 5:11 AM, transiting Venus stations retrograde at 8° Scorpio. See my Venus Retrograde forecast below for details about this cycle and what it means for you.

At 11:09 AM, the Moon goes void for the rest of the day. Like yesterday, while the void Moon doesn’t support new beginnings or activities that require a definite outcome, its “nothing comes of the matter” nature may actually work in your favor.

With Mars opposite Pluto, power struggles and confrontations can get ugly, and people may be more inclined to fight dirty. If you find yourself embroiled in a conflict where threats are made or an ultimatum is issued, thanks to the void Moon there's a good chance nothing will come from them.

Sunday, October 4 • Sun opposite Saturn • Moon is Void Most of the Day

This is another day that doesn’t support new beginnings or activities that require a definite outcome and is best used for taking care of routine matters or catching up on busywork.

With the Sun opposite Saturn, how you want things to be versus how they are may be two very different things. If you find yourself on the receiving end of a reality check, this influence could find you being overly hard on yourself, and the sensitive Cancer Moon could magnify those feelings.

However, given that the Moon is void most of the day, your worse fears aren't likely to come to pass.

At 6:55 PM, the Moon moves into Leo, paving the way for a more enjoyable evening.

Venus stations retrograde on October 3 at 8° Scorpio, but on October 25, her backward motion takes her into Libra, where she’ll continue moving in reverse until November 13, when she stations direct at 22° Libra.

Since this retrograde takes place in two different signs, there are two different sides to this cycle.

And because Venus operates very differently in Scorpio than she does in Libra, what you’re focused on at the beginning of the retrograde may not be what you’re focused on by the end.

VENUS RETROGRADE BY HOUSE

So where are you most likely to experience these Venus retrograde themes?

That depends on where Venus is traveling through your horoscope. Since Venus begins her retrograde in Scorpio and then backs into Libra, depending upon the house system you use, she may spend the entire retrograde in one house of your horoscope, or she may move from one house into another.

To use the forecasts below, you’ll need to find the house where Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio and the house she’ll be traveling through when she returns to Libra.

One important thing to keep in mind: The house tells you where the retrograde is playing out, while the sign tells you how Venus operates there.

Even if Venus remains in the same house throughout the retrograde, the influence will change when she moves from Scorpio back into Libra. As you read your house forecast below, apply what I share about Venus in Scorpio to the first part of the cycle and Venus in Libra to the second.

If Venus moves into a different house when she returns to Libra, read both house forecasts.

Not sure how to find that in your horoscope? Registration for Make Sense of Your Horoscope opens September 30. In three weeks, you’ll learn how to navigate your horoscope and apply forecasts like this to your own chart.

If Venus is retrograde in your:

1st House. If Venus is retrograde in your 1st house of the Self, you may find yourself reviewing your appearance, the way you present yourself and how you feel about yourself. You could be thinking about making a change to your appearance or questioning whether the way you present yourself still reflects who you are. Since this house also describes how you approach life, this can be a time to reconsider what you want and how you want to move forward.

2nd House. If Venus is retrograde in your 2nd house of money and possessions, you may find yourself reviewing how you earn, spend and manage your money, as well as your financial priorities. You may also find yourself questioning whether some of the things you’ve been spending money on are really worth it. This is a good time to review your financial priorities and make changes where necessary.

3rd House. If Venus is retrograde in your 3rd house of communication, your relationships with siblings, relatives and neighbors may need some attention. Someone from your past could also get back in touch, or you may find yourself reconnecting with someone you haven’t spoken to in quite some time. This can also be a good time to reconsider how you communicate in your relationships and whether you’re saying what you really mean.

4th house. If Venus is retrograde in your 4th house of home and family, you may find yourself dealing with a family issue from the past or reconsidering your relationship with someone in your family. You could also start thinking about changes you’d like to make to your home. Since Venus rules beauty, however, you may want to think twice before spending a significant amount of money on redecorating or making purely cosmetic changes.

5th House. If Venus is retrograde in your 5th house of romance, children and creativity, an old flame could reappear, or you may find yourself thinking about someone you were involved with in the past. If you’re already in a relationship, you may be thinking about whether you’re having enough fun together or whether some of the romance has disappeared. A relationship with a child could come up for review as well.

6th House. If Venus is retrograde in your 6th house of work and daily routines, your work environment and relationships with coworkers may come under review. You may find yourself questioning whether you’re happy with the people you work with or whether you feel appreciated for what you contribute. This can also be a good time to reconsider how you spend your time and whether your everyday life is working as well as it could.

7th House. If Venus is retrograde in your 7th house of partnerships, your closest one-to-one relationships are likely to receive a great deal of your attention. This includes marriage and committed relationships, but it can also include business partnerships and other important relationships in your life. You may find yourself questioning how happy you are with a relationship, whether it feels fair and balanced, and whether you’re getting what you need from it. And because Venus retrograde can bring people back into your life, a former partner could also reappear.

8th House. If Venus is retrograde in your 8th house of shared finances and intimacy, shared money can come up for review. This can include money you share with a spouse or partner as well as debt, loans, taxes, investments or other financial arrangements involving someone else’s money. You may also find yourself thinking more seriously about trust, closeness and how comfortable you are sharing yourself with another person.

9th House: If Venus is retrograde in your 9th house of beliefs, higher education and travel, you may find yourself reconsidering some of your beliefs or questioning whether something you once believed still makes sense to you. Relationships connected with travel, education or people who live at a distance can also come up for review. And you may find yourself thinking about returning to a place you once loved or revisiting something you previously studied.

10th House. If Venus is retrograde in your 10th house of career and public life, you may find yourself questioning whether you’re happy with your career direction, whether you feel valued for the work you do or whether a professional relationship is working for you. Since the 10th house also describes your public image and reputation, you may also find yourself thinking about how you want to be seen professionally.

11th House. If Venus is retrograde in your 11th house of friendships and groups, an old friend may return to your life, or you may reconnect with a group or organization you were involved with in the past. You may also find yourself questioning whether certain friendships still have a place in your life or whether you still feel connected to the people you’ve been spending time with.

.

12th House. If Venus is retrograde in your 12th house of what is private or hidden, much of the reviewing associated with this cycle may take place privately. You may find yourself thinking about a relationship from the past, feelings you haven’t completely dealt with or a relationship issue you’ve kept to yourself. The 12th house can bring things that have been hidden into awareness, so this can be a time to recognize feelings or relationship patterns you may not have wanted to acknowledge before.

Well, that's it for this week.

I'll be back next Sunday with more astrological insights and guidance!

Until next time,

Debra
