Dear Stargazers,

As we approach Thanksgiving here in the USA, I want to take this opportunity to say that I appreciate every one of you, and I'm grateful for your kind words and continued interest in my work. As I celebrate with my family, I'll be counting all of you among the many blessings in my life.

To those of you who celebrate this holiday, Happy Thanksgiving!

Mercury Retrograde

The 2017 Mercury Retrograde calendar will be posted on my website, as well as social media, towards the end of December.

In the meantime, this year Mercury will station retrograde on December 19 but it's shadow begins on December 1. As I always say, life doesn't stop for Mercury retrograde (nor should it!). Since many of you will be doing holiday shopping during this time, it's best to avoid "final sales." If possible test your purchases to make sure they work, and be sure to keep your receipts in case you need to take advantage of the store's return policy.

New Features (Free!)

First the bad news: I will not be doing a 2017 annual forecast for the signs. With only three (yes, 3) responses from an extensive mailing list indicating an interest in it, there's simply not enough interest to justify spending my time on it.

Now for the good news ...

Starting with January 2017, I'll be posting easy-to-read void-of-course moon calendars on my website. If you're unfamiliar with this wonderful forecasting tool, no worries because a lesson is in the works.

In the coming months, I'll be re-releasing episodes from my radio show, Anchored in Astrology. The first release will be my personal favorite, Pluto in Capricorn. It was my first show (12/5/08), and while I cringe at my delivery, I'm proud to say that the content stands up. That show was based on a lecture I gave earlier that year, and if I can find the handout, I'm going to make it available as well.
Election 2016

My inbox is full of emails asking me to please explain how I was able to predict two years ago that Hillary Clinton would not be president. I did it by using specific astrological techniques I employ when there's no birth time. I have no plan to teach these techniques, including how Trump's post-election aspects were misinterpreted as a guarantee he would be defeated, except in a (not free) class. If you'd be interested in such a class, let me know; and if there's enough interest, I'll make it happen.
Speaking of the election results, it's old news that scores of astrologers, including the ISAR panel, got it wrong. Some got it wrong because of bias and influence from newspaper polls; some got it wrong because they're not that proficient in predictive astrology; and some got it wrong because NOBODY is right 100% of the time, including ME. That's why predictive astrology isn't for the faint-hearted.

It also isn't for people who can't own their mistakes.

To me, the biggest embarrassment for astrology isn't that an entire panel got it wrong (and for the record, panels have gotten it right in the past); it's astrologers who are trying to twist the facts to try it make it seem as though they got it right because HRC won the popular vote. When the question asked is "Who will win the election on November 8th?," the answer is based on the law of the land which is still the electoral college.

This isn't about being right or wrong. It's about professional integrity.

I'm sure those of you who have followed me for years remember me predicting that Barack Obama would be a one-term President. WRONG!  No one likes to be wrong, and that includes ME. Earlier this year, I said I didn't believe HRC would get the nomination. WRONG!  More than a few readers wrote me to say that (their belief) the nomination was stolen from Bernie; that if the media not sabotaged him, he would've won so in effect I was right. WRONG!

I own it when I'm right, and I own it when I'm wrong. How could you trust me if I didn't?
As for those astrologers who insist they got it right because HRC won the popular vote, they'll either continue to grasp at straws and believe their own fiction, or they'll finally grab one, suck it up and come to understand:

None of us is perfect. If we were, we wouldn't be on this spiritual journey the soul calls life.
WHO'S SIDE ARE YOU ON?

That's the title of a blog I wrote about the then transiting Uranus/Pluto square back in December 2014. Earlier this year I wrote another one about it and said that Clinton and Trump represented the square's planetary aftershocks.

For those of you who aren't on social media, the following is my 11/10 Facebook post:

"I said this a few years ago; will say it again. By the time the USA has its Pluto return, the USA may be two separate nations.

We're even more divided now. That's why I believe we're exactly where we're supposed to be at this time, because no matter WHO won the election, we're still a divided nation because from Day 1, the Prez would be despised and unsupported by half the nation, AND no matter WHO won, each faces potential lawsuits & investigations that can cripple the office.

California is talking about seceding; all over FB I see people talking about fleeing the nation. Right now it may be talk, but Pluto doesn't rush.

What to do? For starters, take a breath. As my mother always said, 'We'll get through it.'"
PLANETARY FORECAST
(November 20 - December 4)

Best Days

While there are other days during this time frame that fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

November 26, 28
December 1, 4

Best Avoided

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

11/21:  Sun → Sagittarius
11/29:  New Moon  Sagittarius
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAGITTARIUS!

Just halfway through your sign, Saturn is still a major influence in your life as it asks you to work towards a meaningful goal. With Saturn, you reap what you sow. Play by his rules and you can expect to reap financial security after it moves into your solar second house of money and values. If you have yet to commit (Saturn) to a vision (Sagittarius), you have 13 more months to figure it out and get it done. If you don't, you can expect to pay the piper.

As Neptune moves through Pisces, its influence can sap your energy, create doubt or distort your perception of reality. Not everyone will experience this effect, but if you find yourself feeling physically or emotionally drained, get more sleep, talk an epsom salts bath (it cleanses the aura of negative energy) and most of all, keep in mind that Neptune makes mountains out of molehills. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, write it all out, put it aside for at least a full day and then re-read it. As you read it, you're now in the role of an observer and this will give you tremendous clarity.

Whether you're already walking the walk or still just talking the talk, the good news is that your planetary ruler has your back. Since entering Libra on September 9, Jupiter has been sending encouraging beams of energy to your Sun and will continue to do so through October 10, 2017. Uranus, currently in Aries, will also lend support in the form of sudden insights but how much you'll benefit from this energy depends upon your level of awareness.

Although total freedom may still elude some of you, 2017 offers a much longer leash and light at the end of the tunnel. Once Saturn moves into Capricorn, the collar will come off and you'll be free to roam far and wide as you pursue your vision.

How far you'll get depends on how well you serve this celestial master.

Individual Perspective

The new moon at 7°43' Sagittarius is within minutes of an exact conjunction (merged energies) with Juno (marriage asteroid). In and of itself, such a tight embrace suggests an engagement, wedding or some type of new beginning related to marriage or marriage-like unions. Since it falls in the 12th house (secrets), it could indicate an elopement or a union that's kept under wraps.

As it happens, this Sun-Moon-Juno conjunction is the focal point of a T-square (a tension-producing aspect pattern) involving an opposition between planetary bodies across the axis of communication. Specifically, the north node in the 9th house opposing the south node and Neptune in the 3rd house, which are also bound in a conjunction (merged energies). The 3rd house is associated with (oral and written) contracts; the 9th house is associated with legal ceremonies.

Adding to the dynamic is the fact that this T-Square is triggering the September 1st solar eclipse point. Consequently, eclipse-related events that may have been delayed due to Mercury's retrograde may finally germinate. Whenever lunar nodes are involved in a relationship pattern, and especially when Neptune is involved, so is a soul contract. While one can expect the tension of the T-square to trigger an action, it's unclear as to whether a contract is being consummated or being broken. Given the Jupiter-Uranus opposition, it seems either way it will be a surprise.

Mundane Perspective

In a nation's chart the Sun represents the head of state. The new moon falls in the 12th house, and since the Sun rules the 9th house and the Moon the 8th in this chart, it suggests clandestine meetings, negotiations and agreements related to foreign relations, immigration taxes, health insurance, social security and the Supreme Court. Notes: The 7th house of law relates to lawsuits; the 9th house to appeals). The 8th house represents support from other people that isn't financial; i.e., voting for a candidate gives them your support. Juno's involvement draws in marriage and/or women.

President Obama is the head of state; Donald Trump is his successor.

In terms of President Obama, this new moon suggests he'll participate in discussions with foreign leaders that will not be made public. Given Juno's prominence in this chart, I would expect such discussions to involve female world leaders Angela Merkel and Teresa May. Since hard aspects speak to action, the motivation for these discussions may be to brainstorm or share information that will help promote the ideas and platforms they share (and Trump doesn't) beyond inauguration day.

In terms of Donald Trump, as shown by history choosing an administration rarely goes smoothly or quickly. In this respect, secret discussions and meetings makes perfect sense. It also makes sense that the topics of such meetings, negotiations and agreements would be related to foreign relations, immigration taxes, health insurance, social security and the Supreme Court. Juno-related discussions would include same-sex marriage and women's rights, including the continued availability of abortion and free birth control (both 8th house matters).

From another perspective, this T-square, notably the square to the new moon from Neptune, can suggest the beginning (actual implementation) of a conspiracy against the President-elect that involves members of his own party to remove him from office by those who would prefer Pence in the oval office. In other words, an inside job.

Looking ahead at the upcoming full moon chart (my analysis will appear in the December 4 issue), it seems clear that December will be a pivotal month for Trump.
Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life by this new moon? They're revealed by the horoscope house that's hosting this new moon in your chart. If you're not familiar with your natal chart, you can learn which house holds the new moon in your solar chart (this is Sun-sign based astrology) by locating your Sun sign in the list below.

Caveat:  The condition of this particular new moon suggests that some of you may be initiating something yet keeping it under wraps. It also warns that for some of you, actions initiated at this time may disappoint or be undermined in some way. For those who are well-versed in astrology, among other things insight may be gleaned by the house placement of transiting Neptune (9°18' Pisces) in your chart. For the rest of you, err on the side of caution when it comes to sharing your intentions.

If your Sun Sign is:

Manifesting with the Sagittarius New Moon

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's in Sagittarius, it favors:

Actions, intentions and affirmations for new beginnings connected with long-distance travel, education, sales, coaching, marketing, public speaking, legal matters in high courts, religion, philosophy and publishing.

This lunar energy also supports intentions to find attorneys, professors, coaches, publicists, clergy and publishers.

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
