TRANSITING MERCURY IN SAGITTARIUS
December 9 - 28, 2019

After spending several intense weeks learning about the mysteries of life in Scorpio, Mercury was ready to bring his newfound knowledge into the light of day.

He was also eager to share it with the world, which is why upon exiting the Underworld, he immediately hit the open road that Sagittarius calls home.

Although Mercury is considered to be in its detriment (disadvantaged) in Sagittarius, the Messenger and the Archer have much in common, including travel, communications and education. As the planetary ruler of the third house, Mercury presides over local travel, lower education, local neighborhoods and all forms of communication; and as the zodiac’s ruler of the ninth house, Sagittarius presides over long distance travel, higher education, foreign places, publishing and public speaking.

Although they have much in common, Mercury and Sagittarius also couldn’t be more different. Mercury is about details, and Sagittarius is about the big picture.

As long as he's here, the planet of communications is at a disadvantage because he’s forced to play by the Archer’s rules. Whereas Mercury rules the concrete mind, Sagittarius rules the theoretical one, which means he needs to be less logical and more philosophical.

While Mercury is in the fiery, flexible and optimistic sign of the Archer, he’s friendly, sociable, playful and articulate. He's also gripped by strong feelings of wanderlust. Whether it’s by train, plane or automobile, or even from the comfort of a cozy armchair for that matter, Mercury in Sagittarius feels driven to explore new horizons.

In Sagittarius, Mercury’s desire to teach and thirst for knowledge expands dramatically and he embodies the spirit of the sage as well as the student. Speaking of expansion, Sagittarius is an abundant, and at times, excessive sign. Consequently, while Mercury is here, he often suffers from verbal diarrhea. Worse, he can be rude, arrogant, argumentative, condescending, dogmatic and downright hypocritical.

While in Sagittarius, Mercury’s lesson is to embrace the Archer’s noble spirit and walk a path of integrity. If he does, he’ll be rewarded with the opportunity to spread knowledge, inspire hope and make a positive difference in the world.

FULL MOON at 19°52' GEMINI
December 12, 2019 |12:12 AM EST
Washington, DC

Whether it's a harmless white lie, a serious betrayal or a full blown scandal, you can expect this full moon to bring some type of deception to come to light.

Since the Gemini Moon making a tight quincunx to a triple conjunction consisting of Saturn, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn, it's likely to be connected to a personal (romantic or platonic) or professional relationship. Either way, expect issues of loyalty and/or money to be a sticking point.

It's also quite possible that the relationship at issue could be an adversarial one (e.g., a business competitor or a jealous friend) that reaches the tipping point under this full moon.

That being said, since the moon goes void at the full moon, the odds of getting clear explanations and/or anything resolved are slim to none until after the moon enters Cancer at 6:23 PM EST.

Given the full moon chart, together with the fact that the Venus-Pluto conjunction becomes exact the next day, any relationship that ends under this influence will be final and will likely end with some degree of bitterness and resentment.

On a more positive note, any union that survives will be transformed and stronger for it in the long run.
Getting Personal

If you don't know which house holds 19°52' of Gemini in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out which house the full moon falls in your solar chart. Since a full moon involves the sun and the moon, be sure to consider the life areas ruled by the opposite house as well.

Releasing with the Gemini Full Moon

You can release anything under any full moon, but since this one is saturated in Gemini energy, it's especially helpful for releasing:

Negative beliefs or fears related to intelligence, communications, memory, cars, trains, siblings, cousins or neighbors.

Traits or tendencies to be indecisive, capricious, insincere, superficial, nervous, fickle, conniving, indifferent, nosy or intolerant.

TRANSITING VENUS IN AQUARIUS
Dec. 20 - Jan. 13, 2019

While Venus is in Aquarius, she values her independence, enjoys being self-sufficient and revels in her freedom.

Although her earthy side is uncomfortable in the sign of detachment, her airy side relates well to its aloofness. It’s also impressed by the its intellect, admires its humanitarian nature and respects its desire to be different.

As the planetary ruler of the horoscope’s second house, Venus presides over money and values. While many Venus signs are prudent and value a healthy savings account, Venus in Aquarius isn’t one of them
.

It's not that she's against accumulating cash; it's just that she's not attached to money for money's sake. In Aquarius, Venus values money for the experiences it can make possible, such as education and travel. She also values it for what it can accomplish, which is why she invests her money in humanitarian, social or political causes instead of the stock market.

As the natural ruler of the seventh house, Venus presides over love and committed relationships, and while in Aquarius, she learns to love authentically. Although she enjoys romance and physical intimacy, her relationships are rooted in friendship, companionship and intellectual compatibility.

Of all the Venus signs, this is the one who most enjoys her own company. That's why she needs a confident partner, one with a strong sense of self who can entertain him or herself when she needs her space, and most of all, one who respects her as a true equal.

DECEMBER SOLSTICE
Dec. 21, 2019 |  11:30 PM EST

Here in the northern hemisphere, the December solstice announces the beginning of winter and ushers in a time to withdraw into our homes.

It's a time to look within, connect with our higher selves and appreciate the stillness of the season, and as the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice is a time to celebrate the restorative spirit that dwells in all of us.

it also marks the rebirth of the Sun because from this point forward, the days begin to grow longer.

In the southern hemisphere, the December solstice marks the beginning of summer and ushers in a time to venture out of your homes and mingle with others, connect with nature and enjoy the bounty of the season.

Whether you're welcoming winter or spring, may the Solstice bring a new cycle of peace into your life.
